Franchina Tresoldi

Franchina Tresoldi lives and works in Lodi, her native city. Once she gets ther Teaching diploma, she attends some free courses of drawing and painting, the Scuola per Artisti pubblicitari Enalc of Milan, and the Accademia Raffaello per la Coreografia of Urbino. She starts her artistic research through different experiences, among which the first happened in the 60s when she was working as graphic advertiser. The following phase was the one of 70s, when Tresoldi realizes works with various techniques, characterized by social and historical themes. In the same period she gains interest in the urbanistic “historic” architecture of the city, and she represents squares, churches, villages and farmsteads. She takes her information from pictures she makes herself, and she favours the printmaking technique by realizing in this way original works, firstly as black and white etching, then as colored aquatinta etching.
