Andrea Marchesini

Andrea Marchesini was born in Barbarano in 1973. He studied painting at Morley College where he exposed his works in 1995. His painting is gestual, material, with immediate impact and influenced by his different experiences. He studied ancient art and kept in contact with avantguardes and contemporary artistic movement (informal, spatialism, action painting and graffiti) thanks to many travels. Till 2003 his works were characterized by fluent and sinuous brush strokes, then his style becomes more and more expressive and materic, with thick and violent signs. The gesture becomes free, without mediation, but only an explosion of colours. Hyde, the creative side of the painter prevails and leads him to his real essence. The surface of the work is thick and full of movement, well-lighted by a brightness which creates different interpretations. Marchesini loves testing different materials like tempera, acrylic, varnish, gypsum and metal dust. His language is a wonderful document of knowledge and communication which expresses emotions and life. The artist exposed in some of principal European cities like Dublin, Rome and Milan.
