Loris Dogana, Cabbage, in vitro graphic, 27x27x6 cm

Cabbage, is an open edition in vitro graphic work by artist Loris Dogana. This work represents on pvc the drawing of a cabbage on an ice cream cone.

The image is doubled: on the background we find the outline in colour: the green cabbage and the brown cone, while on the pvc we find the main drawing in black lines that is projected onto the background creating a 3D shadow play.

The work stems from an experiment on perception. The black lines, representing reason, meet the emotions represented by the colours: the balance between these two elements derives solely from the viewer admiring the work and striving to make the two designs fit together. The artist also always likes to reinterpret popular sayings and puns, as in this case, which takes up the saying 'it fits like a cabbage in a snack'. The work is signed in plate in the lower right-hand corner.
