Carlo Massimo Franchi, Kalos, mixed media, 16.5x12 cm

Kalos: contemporary work belonging to Kaleidos cycle, realized by the artist Carlo Massimo Franchi. The name of this cycle comes from the union of the two words “Kalos” (i.e. “beauty”, from ancient Greek) and kaleidoscope. Kalos is therefore a work where the artist looks for the concept of beauty, by taking advantage of the help given by colored shades, which appraise reciprocally in a kaleidoscope of lights. In his Kalos, Franchi molds together figure, classic profiles, and abstract signs, by paying a tribute to the derivations he inspires from. The media are mixed, in order to better give the idea of a multifaceted cohesion. The work is signed in the superior part, overleaf.
