Andrea Ferrari Bordogna

Andrea Ferrari Bordogna was born in Milan, June 26th 1965, and he lives and works in Corneliano Bertario di Truccazzano (MI). After Scuola di Progettazione Grafica, he founds with other young professionals the Studio Grafico Quetzal. In parallel to his professional activity, he starts in 1990 his own artistic research, to arrive to the decision of dedicating completely to painting. Significative are the meeting with Saverio Barbaro, and the travels in Egypt and Latin America of 1991-94. Always involved in social sphere, the artist takes part in 1992 to an intercultural project promoted by Milan Municipality, devoted to Roma community living in an area of the city, whereas from 1998 to 2004 he works in a shelter for refugees and asylum-seekers. These encounters bring to the creation of several paintings constituting the exhibition Bellezza trasparente, immagini di rifugiati, which has received the patronage of UNHCR and has been displayed in different italian cities. The cycles of paintings dedicated to the Crucifixion and to Daily Bread come next. Since 2000 he conducts didactic activities, by organizing painting laboratories especially for nursery and primary school, and in 2006 for the detainees of Casa Circondariale of Monza. Starting from the following year, he collaborates with Centro di Prossimità Lo Stanzino, in Milan, by organizing educational activities addressed to local youth. Since 1993 his works are displayed in individual and collective exhibitions, both in Italy and abroad.
