Like for her husband's portrait, the artist represents the bees as metaphorical secrets to keep, with the opposite characteristic that the bees are conserved in a fragile balloon. It represents her political ascent: she prospered in the dark until the success with the candidacy at the presidence that reveals her "secret bees" and the danger of her personality.
