Del Buda

Bruno Budassi (a.k.a. Del Buda) was born in Sesto Calende (VA) the February 27th, 1940. From the very early age he devoted to the art of drawing, and to painting in general. His love for arts grows during the military service spent in Milan, where the artist starts spending time among the most important arts galleries of the city. It was the time of 60s, and Milan was vibrating because of ideas and provocations. Del Buda benefits from new artistic thoughts, reminiscent of bright shapes alluding to a cosmic vision characterized by a space dimension filled of physic and psychological energies. In the 90s he inaugurates “Galleria dell'Olmo” in Sesto Calende, where both Italian and international works of art are exhibited. His research is directed to a contemporary spatiality, signed by spaceships, supernovae, black holes, and obsessive figures such as Cyclops. These are works soaked by creative espressivity which want to overcome the bidimensional boundaries of the canvas, in order to recreate space-time dimensions, both in physical and conceptual terms. Interesting is the use of polymateric details, chose among exotic gems, glasses, mother-of-pearls, pins, shiny Swaroski buttons, unique pieces for a well-finished and fascinating scenic construction.
