Renzo Nucara (Crema 1955) lives and works in Bergamo. He graduated from the Art School of Bergamo in 1973 and attended the Academy of Brera in Milan. His first solo exhibition in 1977 at the Gallery Ticino Milan. His early work is structured around the theme of the Diary: emotions, feelings, 'facts of the day' writings cast on the canvas. In subsequent years, the writing becomes a sign, the painting gives way to three-dimensionality, come in new materials - wood, found objects, transparent films - with which creates the ironic Box of Memory. Back to the two-dimensionality with the findings that characterize his artistic production of the 90s: plays with the idea of an object already corroded by time, paper mache, foam rubber and plastic on which thicken color layers, granules, pigments, elements of the natural world. In 1993 he founded along with five other artists Cracking Art movement. Participates with the group, at the 49th Venice Biennale with the installation Sos World: more than a thousand turtles recycled plastic and golden occupying the gardens around the historic halls. Back to the Biennale, always with Cracking Art, in 2011 and 2013. Tile teamwork his artistic research, focused in the early years of the millennium on Resinfilm: layers of resins, pigments and small objects that become the matrix of the latest Stratofilm.
