Aquatint published in the catalogue raisonné of all the graphics created by Chagall edited by the gallery owner Eberhard W. Kornfeld, from 1922 to 1966, considered the most authoritative text that testifies to the graphic production of the Russian master.

This aquatint was created in 1961 and represents a couple in love close to a horse, as the title indicates.

The work was produced in two editions, one of 50 copies and the other of 100 for the German edition.

The work is hand signed by the artist, numbered 54/100 and published in the Kornfeld catalogue.
