Cover, dedicated to the master Marc Chagall, on the number 27-28 (march-april 1950) of the legendary art magazine Derriere le Miroir, published in Paris by Aimé Maeght, from 1946 until 1982. Some of the artists who created lithographs for the magazine were Mirò, Braque, Giacometti, Kelly, Tapies, Riopelle, Pol Bury, Calder, Alechinsky, Ubac and Palazuelo. Editions in circulation of Derrière le Miroir are now scarce and have become very valuable and much appreciated - especially lithographs by Chagall. The cover represents an important lithography of the artist, entitled "La femme au coq rouge" , dedicated to his missing wife and full of symbolism. The woman is flying over a village in the darkness of the night, together with a red cock, announcing the end of night and the arrival of daylight. Therefore the animal is a symbol of two different worlds: on one hand the world of dreams, where everything can happen and on the other the harsh reality.
