Cosimo Carola

Cosimo Carola was born in Naples in 1979, since he was a teenager he showed a great aptitude for painting and illustration. He obtained a diploma in "Printing Arts" at I.S.A. "F.Palizzi" of Naples and later collaborated permanently with scenography, restoration and decoration workshops. He participates in various group shows, exhibitions and competitions creating pictorial and sculptural works. He currently lives and works in Milan.

His anthropomorphic painting presents subjects broken up and then reconstructed in cubist movements: plastic bodies that rhythmically articulate with the flat background and multiplied in geometric figures, thanks to the use of primary colours. The movement is rendered by the use of diagonals that intersect between the background and the foreground in a relationship of chromatic empathy and surfaces.

His production refers to fantastic suggestions and the characters, represented in an ironic and fairy-tale key, are grotesque masks with distorted expressions that well represent the disturbances of our time.
