Giulia Baccara

Giulia Baccara was born in Milan in 1982, a city to which she is very attached and where she still lives. From a very young age, she had an attraction for the world of drawing, graphics and illustrations, which have always represented a way for Giulia to tell and express herself and her life. Her artistic training began at the Liceo Artistico Caravaggio in Milan and then continued at the Istituto Europeo di Design where she obtained a diploma in Graphics. After her diploma, she initially worked as a graphic designer in Milan, but then decided to move to London, where she approached the world of illustration and became passionate about it. Once back in Italy, she started drawing on her own, producing some illustrations in children's books. Her drawings tell little stories, trying to encapsulate moments, dreams and desires in a graphic sign, and with soft colours. The subjects depicted are often animals or human figures, generally subjects that are linked to the natural world. Her technique combines ink and watercolours on paper.
