Le cravate ne vaut pas une médaille

Litographs are taken from Le cravate ne vaut pas une médaille, book-object realized by Enrico Baj in 1972, in a total edition of in 200 copies. These artworks are framed and they were part of the sample 111/160. With this project, the artist critics another time the contemporary society: the tie is the symbol of the homogenisation, a status quo for the one who wears it that instead is unmeaningful, an example of the win of the form above substance. Enrico Baj commented like this: 

"The tie is the minimal structure on which I concentrate my work in these last times. The tie is the favorite decoration of the modern man, because it substitute for the medals and militar and civilian decorations. The tie is the best symbol of the contemporary Occidental culture."
