Andrea Borga

Andrea Borga was born in Trento on October 1, 1985. He is an Italian artist who lives and works in Coredo, a small tourist resort in the Dolomites of northern Italy.

A self-taught sculptor, he began working with metal at the age of 17, with various artisans in the area, where he deepened different processing techniques such as welding, forging, burnishing. It is, however, in the intimacy of his workshop that he begins to approach sculpture and define his artistic identity, giving life to his first works inspired by natural subjects, of which his mountains are rich: plants, flowers, animals. The passion for metals combined with the refinement of the technique led him to explore new approaches aimed at the study of the human form, in particular the creation of female nudes. A theme that is at the center of Borga's artistic research.

His sculptures are mainly made of iron, stainless steel and weather-resistant steel, combining materials such as wood, stone and concrete. His works are the expression of the natural chrome plating of metals that derive directly from the processing techniques, without any subsequent addition of paint or color, which according to the artist commpoment its uniqueness.
