Marcello Arletti, Butterfly, acrylic on aluminum, 35x35 cm

Unique work by Marcello Arletti: painted on laminated metal built by superimposing a series of glazes with transparent pigments on polished aluminum mounted on board. The idea of seeing the color in transparency, thanks to the light ray mirrored by the metal placed behind the pigment, amplifies its visibility and chromatic liveliness.

The subject, a butterfly on a pink background, is taken from the series dedicated to nature that is characterized by works (Hedera Helix, Vitis Vinifera, Ficus Retusa, Quercus Robur, etc...) that reflect and express Arletti’s attention also for deeper or essential themes such as the environment and its ecosystem.

Marcello Arletti’s art is representative, but from the metonymic nature, it reproduces the forms in a manual way. Often it includes the use of alternate language to the image, short sentences almost illegible, which the artist mixes to complete visual communication.
