Aj Roi (Federico Ajello)

Aj Roi, pseudonym of Federico Ajello, was born in Udine in '98. Very creative since he was very young, he puts to good use his talent starting his artistic career in the spring of 2022 and, in less than two years, he achieved considerable success among collectors in Italy and Switzerland, received commissions, began to collaborate with three galleries (respectively in Milan, London and Valencia) and saw a significant increase in the value of his works.

Aj puts to good use his passion for drawing, realizing mainly installations with real road signs, that retouches with brush or markers (and sometimes pierces with firearms)altering its original meaning and creating street art pieces that reflect its values, thoughts and emotions.

From works of political and social criticism to purely ironic and goliardic works, or, on the contrary, raw and violent, there are recurring themes. Each subject is a piece of a complex puzzle, and opens a window to see the world with the artist’s eyes.

During his fresh but prolific career, Aj Roi also experiences a style closer to pop art, but his focus remains mainly focused on the elaboration of road signs, which he modifies with a minimal style or, sometimes, including cartoon characters, video games and movies that marked his childhood and adolescence.
