Reproduction of an illustration made by the American artist Andy Warhol in the 1950s.

His passion for drawing is born in his childhood years. In 1950s, Warhol started producing several illustrations for books and magazines. In particular, the 1950s were the years of "5 Cats Name Sam and One Blue Pussy", "Wild Raspberries", "In The Bottom Of My Garden": books hand-coloured by the artist himself.

This illustration dates from the New York years and is part of the "In The Bottom Of My Garden" series, containing drawings of fairies and cherubs, sometimes accompanied by written phrases reproducing the mother's handwriting.

His style is inspired by 19th-century illustrations, such as Gradville's "Les fleurs animées".
