Unique work made by Aj Roi (Federico Ajello) working with a mixed technique on a real road sign, in this case the sign of "pedestrian path". The artist takes up here the classic myth of mermaids, mythological figures that with their charm, and the magic of their song, wrecked sailors who sailed their waters. We all remember the famous episode of Odysseus told in Homer’s Odyssey.

Aj Roi portrays an unsuspecting swimmer, enchanted by the beauty of what, only in appearance, looks like a harmless young woman in the water. The skulls at the bottom of the water reveal to the observer the ominous future that awaits man.

This painting contains an additional meaning: the fact that only the top of the mermaid is visible, while the tail and human remains are underwater (therefore difficult to see), is a metaphor for how a person, although attractive and affable, may actually have bad intentions, which he hides behind his good looks. The artist invites, therefore, to "go beyond the surface" in order not to fall into deceptions and traps.

Artwork signed by hand and accompanied by its packaging designed ad hoc by the artist himself.
