Oil painting on a board in Macchiaioli's style. Central to the work is the farmstead, where the human presence is witnessed by the only figure present, who seems to look at us with curiosity, as if we were looking at him. The peasant work is witnessed, on a usual day in the countryside.
The style is a clear reference to Macchia's style for which colour is preferred rather than outline. The figures are not represented in detail, but they are still easily distinguishable.
