Gregorio Sciltian, Nativity, lithography, 70x50 cm

A lithography by the Armenian artist Gregory Sciltian, depicting one of the most represented themes in the history of art: the Nativity. The Holy Family is surrounded by the faithful on their way to see the Son of God. All the figures are shown in the foreground, forming a group, and the artist does not represent the traditional procession of people. The artist pays attention to the rendering of the characters' expressions and the rendering of light and shadow.

The work is signed at the bottom right and initialled P.A. (artist's proof) in the bottom left-hand corner.
